President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan has signed a law to ratify an agreement with Turkey on the organization of information exchange and simplification of customs control procedures, Turanews.kz reports citing the press service of Akorda.
The ratification of the agreement is expected to simplify and optimize customs procedures, create favorable conditions for participants in foreign economic activity, and improve conditions for carriers of goods.
Specifically, the agreement provides for:
- Priority border crossing at checkpoints
- Simplification of customs formalities to reduce the time of customs control
- Exemption from customs inspection at checkpoints, except in cases of signs of offenses in the field of customs and smuggling
The agreement is also aimed at increasing the efficiency and reducing the time required for customs control through the electronic exchange of information on goods and vehicles moving between Kazakhstan and Turkey.
