Seven injured in floods in Northwestern Iran
At least seven people were injured in floods in the northwestern Iranian city of Astara on the coast of the Caspian Sea, according to the Mehr news agency, Turanews.kz reports.
Twelve task forces, consisting of 60 rescuers, have been dispatched to the flooded areas. One of the victims was hospitalized, but there were no fatalities reported.
The cause of the floods is still unknown, and rescue efforts are ongoing.
The floods are the latest in a series of natural disasters to hit Iran in recent years. In 2022, floods and landslides killed at least 95 people and caused billions of dollars in damage.
