Heavy rains cause floods in several Turkish Provinces, killing 4 and missing several

Heavy rains swept several provinces of Türkiye on September 6, causing floods that have killed at least four people and left several others missing, Turanews.kz reports.

The rains affected more than 20 provinces, including Ankara and Istanbul. In the provinces of Nevsehir, Aksaray, and Kayseri, three people died, including a three-month-old baby. Thirteen people who were trapped in vehicles on closed roads were rescued and taken to the hospital.

In the Black Sea coastal cities of Aksaray, Kirklareli, and Igneada, five people are missing. Two people have been rescued.

The Turkish Ministry of Emergency Situations (AFAD) is conducting rescue operations and searching for the missing. The ministry has warned citizens to be careful and to heed the warnings of the authorities.

The floods have also caused damage to residential buildings, agricultural fields, vehicles, and roads. The rains are expected to continue for several days, and the AFAD has warned that the flooding could worsen.

The Turkish government has activated its disaster response plan and is providing assistance to those affected by the floods.
