Khiva Melon Festival kicks off in Uzbekistan

The annual Khiva Melon Festival kicked off on Saturday, with 12 regions, 11 regions, and 2 cities participating, including farms, government agencies, and private organizations. A total of 66 pavilions are on display on a 40-hectare site, Turanews.kz reports..

Local and foreign visitors can sample a variety of melon varieties at the festival.

The pavilions also feature exhibits of fruits and vegetables, confectionery, bee products, handicrafts, animal husbandry, and fishing, as well as a concert program.

The festival is expected to attract thousands of visitors from all over Uzbekistan and beyond. It is a celebration of the region’s rich agricultural heritage and a showcase for the diversity of melon varieties grown in Khiva.
