An international conference on international road transport will be held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on September 11, 2023. The conference, entitled “International Road Transport: Ensuring Sustainability and Prosperity,” will be organized by the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan and the Association of International Road Carriers of Uzbekistan, Turanews.kz reports.
The conference will address the key challenges and opportunities facing road transport in relation to regional connectivity, transport and transit along multimodal east-west and north-south corridors.
Specifically, the conference will discuss the following topics:
- The role of road transport in regional connectivity and trade
- The challenges of digitalization and automation in road transport
- The need for sustainable and environmentally friendly road transport
- The shortage of commercial drivers and how to address it
The conference is expected to be attended by representatives from government, business, and academia from around the world. It is hoped that the conference will help to promote dialogue and cooperation on the development of international road transport.
