Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan discuss increasing transit cargo transportation

A delegation from Kazakhstan, led by Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development Murat Karabayev, visited the Baku International Sea Trade Port on Saturday to discuss ways to increase the volume of transit cargo transportation between the two countries, Turanews.kz reports.

The delegation met with the management of the Baku port to discuss ways to ensure a stable trade flow, establish systemic contacts within the framework of the Middle Corridor, and ensure environmental sustainability.

The Middle Corridor is a trade route that connects Europe and Asia through Central Asia. It is a growing project, and Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are both important players in the corridor.

The volume of cargo transportation from the ports of Kazakhstan through the Baku port increased by 15 percent over the seven months of this year. The delegation from Kazakhstan hopes to further increase this volume in the coming years.

The meeting was a productive one, and the two sides agreed to work together to increase the volume of transit cargo transportation between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. They also agreed to cooperate on environmental sustainability issues.

The delegation from Kazakhstan was impressed with the Baku port, and they believe that it has the potential to become a major hub for transit cargo transportation in the region. They are committed to working with the Baku port to make this a reality.
