Two earthquakes hit Türkiye’s Malatya province

Two earthquakes struck Türkiye’s Malatya province in quick succession on Saturday, the Disaster Management Authority (AFAD) said, Turanews.kz reports.

The first earthquake, with a magnitude of 4.8, struck at 16:39 local time, followed by a second earthquake with a magnitude of 4.5 at 16:40 local time.

The epicenter of both earthquakes was in the Eshilyurt area, about 70 kilometers east of the city of Malatya. The earthquakes were felt in several surrounding provinces, including Elazığ, Bingöl, and Tunceli.

There were no reports of casualties or damage from the earthquakes.

Earlier on Saturday, an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.7 struck the southern province of Adana. The epicenter of the earthquake was in the Saimbeyli area, about 100 kilometers south of the city of Adana. The earthquake was felt in several surrounding provinces, including Mersin, Osmaniye, and Hatay.

There were also no reports of casualties or damage from this earthquake.
