II Games of the CIS countries closed in Minsk

The II Games of the CIS countries were closed in Minsk on Sunday with a colorful ceremony at the Minsk Arena. Thousands of spectators gathered to watch the event, which featured a musical and dance program, as well as the transfer of the CIS flag to Azerbaijan, the host country of the next Games in 2025, Turanews.kz reports citing BELTA.

The closing ceremony began with a parade of athletes, coaches, and volunteers from the 12 participating countries. The flag of the CIS was then lowered and transferred to Azerbaijan’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Azad Rahimov.

Following the flag ceremony, there was a musical and dance performance featuring artists from all over the CIS. The crowd was particularly enthusiastic for the impromptu disco that followed, with young people and athletes alike dancing the night away.

Minsker Tatiana, who attended the ceremony with her daughter Daria, said that they both enjoyed the event. “My daughter loved it and so am I,” she said. “We weren’t at the opening of the Games, so we can’t compare, but today everything was great.”

The closing ceremony of the II Games of the CIS countries was a fitting end to a successful event that brought together athletes from across the region. The Games were a celebration of friendship, peace, and sports, and they will be remembered for many years to come.
