Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan Strengthen ties at joint intergovernmental commission meeting

The 5th meeting of the Azerbaijan-Kyrgyzstan Joint Intergovernmental Commission was held in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan on July 26, 2023. The Azerbaijani delegation was led by Deputy Prime Minister Ali Ahmadov, and the Kyrgyz delegation was led by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Bakyt Torobayev, Turanews.kz reports.

The meeting was held in two parts. In the first part, the two chairs of the commission met in a limited format to discuss current issues on the bilateral agenda. In the second part, the meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission was held with participation of heads and authorized representatives of relevant state bodies of the two countries.

The parties expressed satisfaction with the comprehensive development of the Azerbaijani-Kyrgyz friendly relations and strategic partnership. They emphasized the active political dialogue and personal contacts between the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan in terms of ensuring high dynamics in the entire spectrum of bilateral cooperation.

The meeting discussed a wide range of issues, including trade, investment, economic cooperation, energy, transport, tourism, and education. The parties agreed to continue their close cooperation in these areas and to work together to further develop the bilateral relationship.
