The maximum “red level” of the storm has been declared in the coastal areas of East and South China as Typhoon Doksuri is expected to hit on Friday, Turanews.kz reports citing China Central Meteorological Service.
According to the Central Meteorological Service of China, the typhoon is currently about 220 kilometers from the southern tip of Taiwan Island and is moving northwest at a speed of 10-15 km/h. The intensity of the typhoon is expected to increase as it approaches mainland China, with wind speeds in its central part reaching 52 m/s.
The typhoon is expected to reach the coastal areas of Fujian and Guangdong provinces on Friday morning. The PRC Ministry of Emergency Management has mobilized more than 4,000 people and equipment, which are currently on high alert. Authorities have warned residents about the risk of floods and landslides.
The typhoon is expected to bring heavy rain and strong winds to the affected areas. Forecasters are warning of possible flooding, storm surge, and power outages. Residents are urged to take precautions and follow the instructions of local authorities.
