Azerbaijan has launched a new project to provide distance learning of the Azerbaijani language for Azerbaijanis living abroad. The project, called “Mother tongue – Azerbaijani school”, will cover the 2023-2024 academic year and will be conducted by experienced professionals free of charge, Turanews.kz reports.
Those wishing to take part in the project will have the opportunity to join Azerbaijani language classes in groups according to their age and language level, as well as the time zone. A student who completes each level will receive a corresponding certificate. Only Azerbaijanis living abroad can participate in the project.
Registration for the project began on July 7 and will continue until September 1. More information can be found on the website of the Association of Young Teachers of Azerbaijan.
The project is a part of the Azerbaijani government’s efforts to connect with its diaspora and to promote the Azerbaijani language and culture. It is also a way to help Azerbaijanis living abroad to maintain their language skills and to connect with their heritage.
