TURKSOY marks 30th Anniversary with festivities in Tashkent

A concert dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) was held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on June 18, 2023. The concert was organized as part of the TURKSOY Week of Culture, which featured events and performances by cultural figures from Turkic-speaking countries.

Representatives of culture and art from the Turkic states, ministries and organizations for tourism, international structures, the diplomatic corps, figures of literature, art and culture, and media workers were invited to the event.

The concert program featured performances by art groups from Turkic-speaking states, masters of arts, and the State Dance Ensemble of the Republic of Kazakhstan “Saltanat”.

In his speech, Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ozodbek Nazarbekov said that friendly relations between the Turkic-speaking countries have been developing comprehensively in recent years, and that ties in the sphere of culture have entered a new stage. He noted that important projects are being implemented on the way to the development of the ancient Turkic culture, and that relations between the member states are becoming stronger.

Secretary General of the International Organization of Turkic Culture – TURKSOY Sultan Raev noted that TURKSOY has great authority and prestige in the world, and that its cooperation with other organizations is becoming increasingly relevant in the world. He said that TURKSOY plays an important role in the preservation, study and popularization of the spiritual values and historical and cultural heritage of the Turkic-speaking peoples at the international level.

The event ended with a congratulation from President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the participants of the Days of Culture held in Uzbekistan in connection with the 30th anniversary of the founding of TURKSOY.

The concert was a celebration of the rich cultural heritage of the Turkic-speaking peoples, and a testament to the strong ties that exist between the countries of the Turkic world.
