Turkic World bid farewell to Ramadan, begin Eid al Fitr holiday

Eid Mubarak! The sound of festive greetings echoes from every home and street in Turkic World while marking the end of the fasting month of Ramadan, one of the holiest months in the Islamic calendar.

Azerbaijan

Festive prayers were performed in the capital Baku and other regions of Azerbaijan.

Many citizens gathered in mosques from early morning to perform the festive prayer. Citizens who could not find a place inside the mosques prayed in the courtyards of the mosque.

Namaz is also performed at the Juma Mosque of the historic city of Sheki, which is famous for its historical and natural monuments.

Uzbekistan

Thousands of people gathered in the mosques of Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan. In many mosques there was not enough space due to the large number of people, and the believers prayed in the courtyard. The streets where the mosques are located were blocked for traffic.

The head of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, Nuriddin Khaliknazarov, led a festive prayer at the Hazrat Imam mosque in Tashkent, where the oldest manuscript of the Koran “Osman Mushafi”, which is believed to have been stained with the blood of the third caliph, Osman, is kept.

In his sermon, Khaliknazarov congratulated citizens on the Ramadan holiday, and noted that on holidays it is customary to visit the elderly and the sick, to forgive all insults.

The President of Uzbekistan Shavket Mirziyoyev also congratulated the citizens on the Ramadan holiday, making an appeal.

Turkmenistan

Hundreds of Muslims gathered at the Ertugrul Gazi mosque in Ashgabat for a festive prayer. The streets where the mosques are located were closed to traffic, security measures were taken around the mosques.

After the festive prayer, prayers were said for the development of the country, prosperity and peace.

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent a congratulatory message on the occasion of the Ramadan holiday.

Kyrgyzstan

In Bishkek, the necessary security measures were taken to conduct a festive prayer on the square in front of the presidential administration building and the government house.

The streets of Mikhail Frunze, Kasym Tynistanov, Chuya and Ivan Panfilov were closed to traffic.

Citizens began to gather on the square at 05:00 local time.

The security forces searched the citizens for security reasons.

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov and Prime Minister Akylbek Japarov took part in the prayer led by Mufti Zamir Rakiev.

The state radio and television of Kyrgyzstan broadcast the holiday prayer live.

President Japarov congratulated the Kyrgyz people on the Ramadan holiday.
