Foreign direct investment inflow in Kazakhstan hits record

Foreign direct investment inflow in the economy of Kazakhstan reached $28 billion in 2022.

The inflow of foreign direct investment into the economy of Kazakhstan in 2022 reached $28 billion which was the highest figure in the last 10 years.

This was announced on Monday by the Press Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic.

“At the end of 2022, the gross inflow of foreign direct investment in Kazakhstan amounted to $28 billion, which is 17.7% more than in 2021 ($23.8 billion). The indicator has become a record over the past 10 years, ”the message says.

By country, the largest volume of investments fell on the Netherlands – $8.3 billion, the USA – $5.1 billion, Switzerland – $2.8 billion, Belgium – $1.6 billion, Russia – $1.5 billion, South Korea – $1.5 billion , China – $1.4 billion, France – $770 million, Great Britain – $661 million and Germany – $469.5 million.

In the sectoral context, the largest inflow of investments was directed to the mining industry – $12.1 billion, the manufacturing industry – $5.6 billion, wholesale and retail trade – $5.1 billion, professional, scientific and technical activities – $1.2 billion, transport and warehousing – $1.2 billion

The largest volume of investments in the regional context fell on the Atyrau region – $8.3 billion, Almaty – $7.6 billion, Astana – $2.2 billion, East Kazakhstan region – $2.2 billion, Aktobe region – $1.2 billion
