Revealed: These are the most visited cities by tourists in Kazakhstan

The top tourist cities of Kazakhstan is revealed by the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Kazakhstan, Turanews.kz reports citing Tengritravel.kz.

According to the Ministry, Türkiye, the United States, Great Britain and Germany are in the list of top 10 countries where most tourists coming from.

“Almaty city tops in the list with 40,000 tourists and secondly the capital Astana comes with more than 22,000 tourists and third place belongs to Aktobe region with 4,733 tourists” the report says.

Following the top three are:

Atyrau region (4212);
Mangistau region (3023);
West Kazakhstan region (2778);
Pavlodar region (2719);
North Kazakhstan region (2651);
Shymkent (2586)
Karaganda region (2573).

“The main flow of tourists is welcomed by hotels in Almaty and Astana. The top ten most popular places for accommodation are hotels in these two megacities. At the same time, 16,654 individuals and 6,746 legal entities throughout Kazakhstan have received guests since the beginning of the year.” said Yerzhan Yerkinbaev, the Vice Minister of Culture and Sports.

Kazakhstan plans to increase the flow of foreign tourists to 4 million people in next years.
